UrBAnNoYEs
UrbBAnNoYEs is a daily diary of paintings by Chicago artist Connie Noyes. Her abstract paintings portray the minutiae of daily urban life. Noyes finds her inspiration for this work through transient encounters, and small moments observed through the course of the day. She portrays meetings of sound, a tactile surface, contrasts of light and dark or the felt energy of the city where she lives and works. The scale of each painting reflects the intimacy of these daily encounters.

This blog is inspired by the underlying philosophy which is at the base of her art practice, "Just show up." Entrenched in the commitment of a daily practice , this format provides her a way to share this work with the rest of the world.
