LANDFILL ART PROJECT

I was sent an old, rusty, FORD hubcap which seemed rather timely given the current state of the American auto industry. The purpose of the piece was to show conflict within the brand itself through the use of materials - gold leaf, shiny, chrome enamel, and resin. The materials both intensify the "rusty" aspect of the object, while at the same time elevating and "beautifying" it. It is no longer useful, except as an object to be wondered about.
